How to install a WordPress theme

Through the WordPress control panel

1. In the WordPress control panel, go to the “Appearance” section, then to the “Themes” section
2. At the top, click on the “Add New Theme” button, then “Upload Theme”
3. Select the “.zip” file containing the theme and click “Install Now”
4. Click “Activate Theme”

Through the file system

1. Unpack the archive with the theme on your computer
2. Go to your hosting in the section with a file editor, or use FTP access
3. Go to the folder of your site with installed WordPress
4. Open your themes folder /wp-content/themes/
5. Upload your theme to the /themes/ folder
6. Check that the “style.css” file is located at “/wp-content/themes/my-theme/style.css” (where my-theme is the name of your theme)
7. Go to your WordPress dashboard, go to the “Appearance” section, then to the “Themes” section and activate the theme
